20 October 2014 - 21 November 2014

We’re upgrading boundary fencing along Raglan Street in East St Kilda between Godfrey Avenue and Alma Road as part of a strategy to minimise trespassing onto the rail corridor.

Fencing will be installed in accordance with outcomes of the community meeting held on 16 April 2014.

A 1800mm mesh fence will be constructed on the rail boundary to provide a permanent deterrent to people crossing the railway in this area.

The position of the fence on the rail boundary means that the existing fencing must first be removed and pruning or removal of trees and vegetation under the direction of a qualified arborist.

Replacement planting will be undertaken in some areas upon completion of works and every effort will be taken to avoid disturbing existing plantings by residents.

How will this affect me?
Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7.30am and 4.30pm from Monday 20 October to Friday 21 November and is expected to cause minimal disruption to nearby residents.

While every effort will be made to complete works within the specified timeframes, due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions there may be occasions where schedules change at
short notice.

We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause and appreciate your patience whilst major improvements are made to Melbourne’s rail network.

For further information, please contact PTV on 1800 800 007 (6am–midnight, 7 days) and quote reference “Metro Fencing Upgrade”.
