1 August 2015 - 3 August 2015

What’s happening?

We are undertaking clean up works between South Yarra and Sandringham stations, after recent track upgrades that have taken place. These works are essential to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the network.

These works will take place, as follows:

  • 11pm Saturday 1 August until 7am Sunday 2 August
  • 10pm Sunday 2 August until 6am Monday 3 August

We will endeavour to minimise the amount of time required for night works.

Works are expected to be completed by 6am Monday 3 August.

How will this affect me?

Due to the nature of the works and heavy machinery required, including excavators and trucks, medium – high level construction noise may be experienced.

Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residents where possible.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these important works.

For further information, please contact PTV on 1800 800 007 (6am–midnight, 7 days) and quote “Track Work: Sandringham line, August”.

How will this affect me?

Vegetation deemed to be within close proximity of track and overhead infrastructure will be trimmed and/or removed. Due to the nature of the works and heavy machinery required, including chainsaws, medium – high level construction noise may be experienced.

Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.
