Sandringham Line

Sandringham

Works Alert
26 Jul 4:30 - 27 Jul 2:30

Buses will replace trains between Sth Yarra & Elsternwick all weekend due to Balaclava station upgrade works.  Please note that this may increase your journey time by up to 30 minutes and that trains will still operate between Elsternwick & Sandringham.

As we upgrade our network with the Regional Rail Link and Springvale Level Crossing Removal projects, we also need to train our drivers on the new sections of track. In order to complete the training as quickly as possible and with the lowest impact to the network, we will be implementing some planned cancellations from 22 April – 30 May.

24 May 2014 - 27 July 2014

What’s happening?

Due to a number of external factors, including inclement weather, drainage works at Windsor Station between Union Street and Dandenong Road have been extended and will continue until Sunday 27 July.

Works will take place from 10pm on the following nights: Saturday 5 July, Saturday 12 July and Saturday 19 July and will be completed by 7am each morning. Works will also take place between 6am and 6pm on Saturday 26 July and Sunday 27 July.

We will endeavour to minimise the amount of time required for night works. The drainage reconstruction is now expected to be completed by 7am Sunday 27 July.

How will this affect me?

Due to the nature of the works and machinery required, medium-high level construction noise may be experienced. Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residents where possible.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these works.

For further information, please contact PTV on 1800 800 007 (6am–midnight, 7 days).
