Buses will replace trains between Clifton Hill and Macleod until last train Sunday 29 April due to Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade works.

Trains will run to an altered timetable between Macleod and Hurstbridge.

This may increase your journey time by up to 55 minutes.

Note: Buses will replace trains between Clifton Hill and Greensborough each night from 8pm from Tuesday 24 April to Friday 27 April due to Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade works.

There are no scheduled extra services at this time

3 April 2017 - 30 April 2018

While works take place as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade Project, there will be long term car space closures at Heidelberg Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?
From Friday 21 April 2017 to April 2018.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Approximately 50 car spaces closed in the Burgundy Street car park at Heidelberg Station in April 2017. These are scheduled to reopen in April 2018 once the duplication of the single-track section of rail line between Heidelberg and Rosanna is complete.

The Burgundy Street car park entrance will be closed and customers will be required to enter the station car park via the Bell-Banksia Link entrance.
Alternative customer parking will be provided within a 12 minute walk during the partial car park closure. To see map of alternative parking spaces, click here.

1 September 2017 - 31 December 2018

While works take place as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade Project, there will be long term car space closures at Rosanna Station.

Long term car space closures:

The Turnham Avenue and Beetham Parade car parks closed in July and September 2017, and will not reopen until late 2018.

Alternative rail passenger parking has been provided within a 10 minute walk of Rosanna Station during the planned long-term station car park closures in the following locations:

  • Approximately 48 spaces on the east side of Beetham Parade between #18 Beetham and Hillside Road (unrestricted)
  • 100+ spaces on the east side of Ellesmere Parade (adjacent to the railway tracks)
  • 2 accessible car spaces previously available in the station car parks have been relocated behind the Rosanna Library on Turnham Avenue, Rosanna.

13 February 2018 - 31 July 2018

Due to restoration works on Flinders Street Station take place, there will be long term pedestrian access changes outside Flinders Street Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?
From 9pm to last service, Sunday to Thursday, Tuesday 13 February until July.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Due to restoration works on Flinders Street Station, Sunday to Thursday each week from 9 pm access between Platform 1 and Flinders Street will be via the main entrance and concourse only.

Signage will be in place to guide customers during this time. Please observe any safety signage and instructions put in place by workers during construction.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

19 February 2018 - 1 May 2018

While rail welding works take place, there will be temporary car space closures at Heidelberg Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
Monday 19 February – Tuesday 1 May 2018

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Approximately 20 car spaces in the Heidelberg Station car park (off Bell-Banksia Link) will temporarily close.

From Monday 26 February, a further 40 car spaces will temporarily close until Tuesday 1 May.

From Monday 19 March to Monday 26 March a further 20 car spaces will temporarily close.

Please note this is in addition to the 50 car spaces that are currently closed in the Heidelberg Station car park, with alternative car parking provided in Banksia, Powlett and Darebin streets.

For your safety, please observe any signage and instructions in place during these works.

While works take place as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade, there will be temporary bus stop relocations at Rosanna Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?
From Thursday 1 March until mid-2018

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
The bus stops on Turnham Avenue in Rosanna are relocating to Station Road.

Passengers can catch train replacement buses and routes 513 (Eltham to Glenroy) and 517 (Northland to St Helena) from the new stops.

The northbound land on Turnham Avenue will close while the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade team remove the Lower Plenty Road level crossing and build the new Rosanna Station.

The accessible car parks behind Rosanna Library are moving to Strasbourg Road, closer to the new stops.

12 March 2018 - 2 May 2018

While works take place as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade, there will be temporary closures of station car parks at stations on the Hurstbridge Line.

During construction, station car park users are encouraged to plan their travel and consider alternative transport to nearby stations and car parks.

Temporary car park closures

Victoria Park Station
The private car park (Care Park) to the east of Victoria Park Station will close to enable train replacement bus services to operate. Customers should seek alternative transport to the station during this time.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From Wednesday 14 March to Tuesday 1 May

Clifton Hill Station
Approximately 8 on-street car spaces on Hoddle Street on the station side of the road will close to enable train replacement bus services to operate.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From 3pm Friday 16 March to 5am Monday 30 April

Eaglemont Station
Approximately 6 car spaces on Sherwood Road will temporarily close to enable train replacement bus services to operate.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From 3pm Friday 16 March to 5am Monday 30 April

Heidelberg Station (Mount Street)
Approximately six on street car spaces on Mount Street in Heidelberg on the station side of the road will also close to serve as an interchange for train replacement bus services.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From 3pm Friday 16 March to 5am Monday 30 April

Macleod Station
All on street car spaces on Birdwood Avenue and Erskine Road in Macleod on the station side of the road will serve as an interchange for Metro train replacement bus services. McNamara Street to the west of Macleod Station will also be used to run train replacement bus services.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From 3pm Friday 16 March to 5am Monday  30 April

Greensborough Station
The Para Road car park at Greensborough Station will close to operate as a bus interchange for train replacement bus services. Up to six car spaces on Para Road opposite the station will also close to enable train replacement bus services to operate.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
From 3pm Friday 16 March to Saturday 17 March  and from 3pm Thursday 29 March – 5am Wednesday 4 April

The car spaces will be closed from 3pm to last service each day, Tuesday 24 April to Friday 27 April

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
The Para Road car park at Greensborough Station will close temporarily to serve as a bus interchange for replacement bus services.

In addition, approximately six car spaces on Para Road opposite the station will also close.

Please observe any safety signage and instructions put in place by workers during construction.
