12 July 2015 - 7 August 2015

What’s happening?

We are undertaking track upgrades at night between Clifton Hill and Hurstbridge. These works are essential to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the network.

These works are scheduled to take place:

  • Each night, 10pm-6am: Sunday 12 July until 6am Friday 17 July
  • Each night, 10pm-6am: Sunday 19 July until 6am Friday 24 July
  • Each night, 10pm-6am: Sunday 26 July until 6am Friday 31 July
  • Each night, 10pm-6am: Sunday 2 August until 6am Friday 7 August

We will endeavour to minimise the amount of time required for night works.

These track works are expected to be completed by 6am Friday 7 August.

How will this affect me?

Due to the nature of the works, including saw cutting, and the use of heavy machinery, including excavators and trucks, medium – high level construction noise may be heard. Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

To minimise construction impacts, Metro Trains and its contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residents where possible.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these works.
