What’s happening?

We’re undertaking track work between Victoria Park and West Richmond stations. This track upgrade is essential to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the network.

Clean up activities and tamping/welding activities will take place from Monday 27 October – Sunday 9 November, the majority of these works will take place during the day, however some activities may be undertaken at night when trains are not running.

How will this affect me?

Due to the nature of the works and machinery required, low – medium level construction noise may be experienced. Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residents where possible.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these works.
