WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?

Level Crossing Removal Project: Caulfield to Dandenong involves the removal of nine level crossings between Caulfield and Dandenong. It includes five rebuilt stations at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Clayton and Noble Park, as well as power and signalling upgrades.

In the next few months, there will be full and partial temporary long-term closures of station car parks in order to remove level crossings, construct elevated tracks and rebuild new stations. This will transform these stations into modern transport interchanges, with the capacity to manage thousands of passengers daily.

During construction, station car park users are encouraged to plan their travel and consider alternative transport to nearby stations and offset car park locations. Shoppers are also encouraged to seek alternative parking at council parking facilities in the area.

To offset the temporary loss of car spaces at stations:

  • 195 spaces will be constructed at Holmesglen Station
  • 170 spaces will be constructed at East Malvern Station
  • 50 spaces will be constructed at Huntingdale Station
  • 165 spaces will be constructed at Sandown Park Station.

17 July 2016 - 20 July 2016

Due to maintenance work on track infrastructure, structures and facilities, electrical networks and signalling, there will be night works between Caulfield and Oakleigh stations.
WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?
These works will take place for four nights from Sunday 17 to Wednesday 20 July from 9pm until 4am.

Works are expected to be completed by 4am Thursday 21 July.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Due to the nature of the works and heavy machinery required, including special track machines, excavators, front end loaders and chainsaws, medium – high level construction noise will be experienced.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

These works are to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the network.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these works.
