July works
In July, major transport works continue across the metropolitan train network to deliver Melbourne’s biggest ever upgrade of power, signalling and communications, paving the way for more trains, more often, across the network. Construction is timed to coincide with the school holiday period, minimising impacts on public transport.
Before travelling, plan ahead and allow more time for your journey. Avoid peak periods if you can, and consider alternatives where possible. Expect your normal services to be busier than usual during this time. There will be more people using roads or different public transport lines if their usual journey is disrupted.
