Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 March

No additional train services will operate.

Customers are advised to travel to Parliament Station, via the City Loop, then walk to the Royal Exhibition Building.

Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 March

Getting to and from Albert Park 

There will be no additional train services. All trains will operate to their normal daily timetable.

Customers can get to and from the track using the following options:

Gates 1 and 2

Train to Southern Cross Station and then Light Rail GP Express shuttle trams

Gates 3

Train to Southern Cross Station and then Clarendon Street GP Express shuttle trams

Gates 5, 8, 9 and 10

Train to Flinders Street Station and then St Kilda Road GP shuttle trams

Customers are advised that their Grand Prix ticket cannot be used to travel on trains, but on trams only.

Herald Sun Run for the Kids

Metro is a proud corporate sponsor of the run this year, which will raise valuable funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Getting to the start line

All Night Network train services will operate to their normal timetable, with services operating on all train lines except Showgrounds and Stony Point.

The following additional services will operate to Flinders St Station:

  • Box Hill, departing 6.20am
  • Craigieburn, departing 6.15am
  • Frankston, departing 5.57am
  • Glen Waverley, departing 6.22am
  • Pakenham, departing 5.42am
  • South Morang, departing 6.15am
  • Sunbury, departing 6.02am
  • Werribee via Westona, departing 5.50am

Leaving from the finish line

No additional train services will operate.

The closest train station to the finish line is Flinders St Station.
