Major works this Winter

Changes today, better transport tomorrow.

Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects this Winter. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.

As part of Victoria’s Big Build, major works continue in June, July and August to remove more than 20 dangerous and congested level crossings, including the Ferguson Street level crossing in Williamstown, with 46 already done.

Works on the Metro Tunnel and Sunbury Line Upgrade will also continue as we build a better train network for all Victorians. There will be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time.

Visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au for more details on current restrictions and the latest advice.

Metropolitan trains

Be sure to plan ahead and allow more time for your journey during the major works this Winter, especially if you’re travelling over the school holiday period.

Plan your journey before you travel using our Journey planner, consider alternatives if you can and travel outside of peak times if possible.

There’ll also be a range of other smaller disruptions for essential works across the network.

See the Metro planned works page for information on all current and upcoming disruptions on the train network.
