22 November 2014 - 24 November 2014

We’re undertaking track and platform works at Mooroolbark Station.

These track and platform upgrades are essential to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the rail network.

Major works will take place from 10pm Saturday 22 November and will continue through until 7am Monday 24 November. Clean up activities will take place in the following week.

We will endeavour to minimise the amount of time required for night works at each location along the line.

How will this affect me?
Due to the nature of the major works and specialised machinery required, medium – high level construction noise may be experienced. Where required, audible track safety measures may also be deployed to warn train drivers of work taking place on the line ahead.

You may also notice an increase in construction vehicles and train replacement buses moving around the stations and along the line. Buses will be replacing trains all day Sunday 23 November between Blackburn and Lilydale stations.

Clean up activities are scheduled to take place in the following week and some low level construction noise may be experienced during this time, including vehicle movement.

To minimise construction impacts, the Metro team and our contractors will aim to reduce excessive noise and will make every effort to minimise disturbance to residents.

Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residents where possible.

While we will make every effort to complete works within these time frames, some activities may need to be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your understanding during these works.
