While works take place as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project there will be long-term car space closures at Heatherdale Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
The car spaces will be closed from November 2015 until mid 2017.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Please note the following car park closures:

  • Southern car park (off Molan Street) 14 parking spaces to close from 5am Friday 20 May  until Monday 1 August 2016.
  • Southern car park (off Molan Street) entire car park closure from Monday 1 August 2016 until Friday 3 February 2017.
  • Western car park (Platform 2 entrance) 60 parking spaces to close from 9pm Friday 13 November until mid-2017. Disability parking will remain available.
  • Eastern car park (off Heatherdale Road) 60 parking spaces to close from 9pm Friday 29 November until mid-2017.
  • Northern car park (off Maroondah Highway) up to 115 car space will close from 6am Monday 25 July until 6am Monday 8 August.
  • Northern car park (off Maroondah Highway) up to 52 car space will remain closed from 6am Monday 8 August until February 2017.

 

  • Alternative parking up to 90 spaces on the corner of Molan and Newman Streets available.
  • A further 54 alternative parking spaces are available at 4-8 Heatherdale Road from Monday 25 July 2016.
  • A small offset car park is available to customers wishing to relocate to Ringwood during construction at lot 118/140 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood (opposite Office works).

We apologise for any inconvenience while we undertake these important works.

Once complete, the removal of the level crossing at Heateherdale Road will improve safety and reduce congestion for the local community. A rebuilt Heatherdale Station closer to the existing main car parks will improve access to the station and the construction of a shared use path will link Mitcham and Ringwood, including new pedestrian overpasses at Purches Street and Tennyson St.

29 February 2016 - 30 June 2017

As part of preparations to remove the level crossings at Bayswater there will be changes to parking and pedestrian access at Bayswater Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
These changes will take place from Monday 29 February until mid 2017

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
The changes to Bayswater Station include:

  • A further 115 spaces will be unavailable
  • Pedestrian access to the station will be via Station Street only
  • The existing walking/cycling path will be temporarily relocated to Station Street.

These changes will remain in place for the duration of the project.

For your safety, please observe safety signage and follow directions of traffic controllers.

While works take place as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project there will be long-term car space closures at Blackburn Station.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURING?
Stage 1 of the car space closures will take place from 5am Monday 11 July until 6am Tuesday 9 August.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Please note the following car park closures:

  • Up to 63 spaces within the eastern (opposite the station and Vine streets) and western (opposite Queen Street) car parks off Railway Road will close.
  • Disability permit parking will be relocated to the eastern car park during this time

 

  • Alternative parking of up to 63 spaces is available at 160 Whitehorse Road, Blackburn (enter via Railway Road).

6 August 2016 - 8 August 2016

While signalling upgrade works take place there will be night works between Richmond and Hawthorn Stations.

WHEN IS THIS OCCURRING?
These works will take place from 12am Saturday 6 until 5am Monday 8 August.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?
Due to the nature of the works and equipment required, low to medium levels of construction noise will be experienced at times around Burnley and East Richmond stations. Lighting towers will be installed near work sites and will be directed away from residential properties where possible. Our workers will access the rail corridor in the following locations:

  • White Street Depot, Cremorne
  • Madden Grove, near Burnley Street

Traffic management will be in place to guide motorists and to minimise disruption to local traffic in the area.

Our works are subject to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances which may impact our construction program.

Please note that these works must be carried out while trains are not running to ensure the safety of our workers and train users.

 

To enable these works to take place, buses will replace trains during the following periods:

  • Saturday 6 August to Monday 8 August from Parliament to Camberwell stations on the Belgrave/Lilydale and Alamein lines and Richmond to Darling stations on the Glen Waverley line.

Normal train services on all lines will resume on Monday 8 August.
