Changes to Your Frankston Line Service

Monday, 16 November 2015 until mid-June 2016

As part of major works to remove the North Road, McKinnon Road and Centre Road level crossings, the third track between Moorabbin and Caulfield stations will be temporarily closed from Monday, 16 November 2015 until mid-June 2016.

During this time, Frankston line express services will now stop all stations to/from Flinders Street Station, with no express trains in the morning and afternoon peak times on weekdays.

Four weekday services will be also need to be temporarily cancelled to enable the express services to stop all stations:

8.25am To City Moorabbin Station to Flinders Street Station
9.09am From City Flinders Street Station to Mordialloc Station
5.21pm To City Frankston Station to Flinders Street Station
6.25pm From City Flinders Street Station to Mordialloc Station

There will be no changes to Frankston line services to off-peak or weekend services.

This change in the timetable will mean that customers at Hawksburn, Toorak, Armadale, Glenhuntly, Ormond, McKinnon, Bentleigh, Patterson, Moorabbin and Highett stations will have a train approximately every 5 minutes during the morning and afternoon peaks.

Express trains that become stopping all station trains will travel direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop. If you take one of these trains, for those who want to travel to a City Loop station you are advised to change trains at Caulfield or Richmond stations.

These changes will allow us to keep the Frankston line running while we undertake necessary construction works as part of the level crossing removals.

Customers should plan ahead and allow up to 10 minutes extra journey time.

Timetables for affected services (expresses only) can be found here:

Thank you for your patience while we undertake these important works.
