All train, tram and bus travel in Zones 1 and 2 was free on Friday 30 July (from first until last service inclusive) as compensation for the disruptions on Tuesday 27 July.

How to claim compensation for Friday's free travel:

If you hold either a yearly, monthly or weekly Metcard or a  myki pass of seven days that was active for Tuesday 27 July or  is active for Friday 30 July instead of the free travel day you will be able to apply for one  free daily ticket as compensation through one of the following forms:

Please note: this is a different form and process to that used for monthly performance compensation. This free ticket offer is provided in addition to that process. Information on compensation for July will be available through the Performance area of our website on 10 August.

No refunds will be provided to customers who inadvertently purchase or validate their Metcard/myki on Friday 30 July.
