Community Education Unit (CEU) ‘Safe Travel on Metro Trains’

 

To celebrate ‘Rail Safety Week’ (14 to 18 August 2017), Metro’s Community Education Unit (CEU) invites Year 5 and 6 Melbourne metropolitan primary school students to participate in a ‘Safe Travel on Metro Trains’ poster competition. This competition provides an opportunity for students to take action to promote key rail safety messages at school and in the wider community.

Prizes
First Prize:
    a PlayStation 4 500GB + a ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ show bag + a school visit from ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ mascots + a Certificate of Participation + their poster displayed at a Central Business District (CBD) station during ‘Rail Safety Week’.
Second Prize:  a Garmin Vivofit Jr. + a ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ show bag + a Certificate of Participation+ their poster displayed at a CBD station during ‘Rail Safety Week’.
Third prize:  a Family pass cinema voucher + a ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ show bag +a Certificate of Participation+ their poster displayed at a CBD station during ‘Rail Safety Week’.

The Community Education Unit also offers free differentiated rail safety incursions to primary schools. These sessions enable students to work collaboratively in groups to share their public transport experiences while learning new safety tips for travelling. To optimise the effectiveness of these incursions, each session requires a minimum of 50 minutes and a maximum of 30 students.
