Metro sms timetables

Get personalised timetables sent to your mobile with our 24-hour SMS Timetable service. Instantly find out the next four trains departing your nearest station and travelling to anywhere in Melbourne. Or tell us the time and date you want to travel and we’ll send you the latest information.

SMS Timetables include all connecting services if you need to change trains, and gives you up-to-the-minute information about any service changes during weekdays from 6am to 8pm. At all other times, scheduled timetable information is available. And the maximum cost per text is 55 cents (including GST).

Travel now

Step one Enter your departing and arriving train stations with a space between each name. Write each station name as a single word, even when it has two or more words in its name. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station, enter:

Step two Send to 199 METRO (199 63876)  (SMS cost 55c inc GST)

Travel later today

Step one Enter your departing and arriving train stations with a space between each name. Write each station name as a single word, even when it has two or more words in its name. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station, enter:

Step two After the names of the stations, leave a space and enter the time you wish to travel. Enter the time without punctuation, either using am/pm or as a 24 hour time. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station at 9.15pm, enter:

boxhill flinders 915pm or boxhill flinders 2115

Step three Send to 199 METRO (199 63876) (SMS cost 55c inc GST)

Travel another day this month

Step one Enter your departing and arriving train stations with a space between each name. And write each station name as a single word, even when it has two or more words in its name. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station, enter:

Step two After the names of the stations, leave a space and enter the time you wish to travel. Enter the time without punctuation, using either using am or pm. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station at 9.15pm, enter:

boxhill flinders 915pm

Step three After the time, leave a space and enter the date you wish to travel as a number only. For example, to travel from Box Hill to Flinders Street Station at 9.15pm on March 15, enter:

boxhill flinders 915pm 15

Step four Send to 199 METRO (199 63876) (SMS cost 55c inc GST)

You can also use the full station name or the 3 letter station code when entering your arrival and departure stations
