Application to Fair Work Australia

8 September

Metro has today made an application to Fair Work Australia seeking to revoke or suspend the right of entry for Marc Marotta, Secretary of the Locomotive Division of the Rail Tram and Bus Union, to any premises governed by Metro under the company's Franchise Agreement with the Victorian Government.

The application has been made following serious allegations against Mr Marotta.

The application was not made lightly; it is the culmination of an internal investigation along with significant discussion and deliberation.

Metro has a responsibility and a duty of care to all of its employees and we have no tolerance to any behaviour that is threatening, aggressive, violent, bullying, or intimidation.

We are committed to improving the performance of Melbourne's train network and we are not prepared to have any of our valued employees compromised in any way.

Our application will now be heard by Fair Work Australia.
