    February train performance results and Siemens update

    Metro has reached its delivery target for February with 98.8 per cent of 51,598 scheduled services for the month being run, an increase of 0.5 per cent compared to January’s performance, and exceeding the delivery target of 98 per cent. On-time performance for February fell below the 88 per cent minimum target, with 83.4 per cent of trains running on-time to four minutes and 59 seconds. Metro will pay customer compensation for falling below the punctuality target.

    Metro has requested urgent conciliation with Fair Work Australia in mediating a dispute with the Rail, Tram and Bus Union's Locomotive Division (RTBU LD) after they refused to accept the first of the 38 new X'Trapolis trains into service yesterday afternoon.

    Metro has reached its delivery target for January with 98.3% of 48,343 scheduled services for the month being run. On-time performance for January fell below the 88% minimum target, with 86.9% of trains running on time to four minutes and 59 seconds. Metro will pay customer compensation for falling below the punctuality target.

    Metro welcomes new Minister to the helm

    Metro Trains today welcomed the appointment of Martin Pakula as Minister for Public Transport.     Glen Waverley Line - full investigation launched

    The Glen Waverley line was re-opened for service just after 5pm today, but repeat overhead line failures this week have lead Metro to commence a full investigation into the fundamental issues behind the disruptions. “The fact that we have had a number of similar incidents on the Glen Waverley line in the same week is most concerning, and suggests that there is a fundamental problem with that section of overhead,” said CEO Andrew Lezala.

    Disruption Update, 5.20 pm: Services resumed Services on the Glen Waverley line have resumed. Customers are advised that there will be delays up to 15 minutes and possible cancellations. Additional customer service staff are positioned along the line to assist customers with their journey.
